Headshot and Showreel for Actors based in the North East

When you’re booking a headshot photographer, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure that you’re getting exactly what you need. Here are a few questions you might want to ask a headshot photographer before your session:

  1. What is your experience with headshots? A photographer who has experience working with actors and creating headshots will be better equipped to help you achieve the look you want.
  2. What type of lighting do you use? Different lighting setups can create different moods and effects. Knowing what type of lighting the photographer uses can help you prepare for your session.
  3. How many shots will be taken? It’s important to know how many shots will be taken during the session so you can plan accordingly and be prepared.
  4. How will the images be delivered and what format they will be in? Knowing what format your images will be delivered in, it will help you to have them ready to send to casting directors, agents and to have copies ready for your personal use.
  5. How many final images will you receive? This will vary with each photographer, and you’ll want to know how many final images will be included in your package so you know what to expect.
  6. Do you include any retouching? Some photographers include basic retouching (removing blemishes, wrinkles, etc) in their packages and others charge extra, so you’ll want to ask if retouching is included and, if not, how much it will cost.
  7. Can you provide examples of your work? it’s a good idea to ask to see examples of the photographer’s previous headshot work. This will give you an idea of the photographer’s style and quality of work.
  8. Do you offer Wardrobe and Makeup services? Some photographers offer these services, and others do not, so if this is important to you, be sure to ask.

By asking these questions, you can ensure that you’re getting the right photographer for your needs and that you’re fully prepared for your headshot session. Remember that it is also important to communicate your needs and vision with the photographer to make sure you both are on the same page.
